FAQs
Q: How long should I burn my candle?
A: It is recommended that you burn your candle for at least two hours the first time you light it. It is important to avoid burning the candle for more than four hours at a time. On the other hand, burning the candle for less than two hours can shorten the life of the candle. We recommend following the care instructions that can be found on this website to ensure that you get the best performance and longevity from your candle.
Q: Why is there wax clinging to the side of my vessel after some burning time?
A: This is the phenomenon called "hang up" that occurs with coconut-soy wax where you may observe a well that is forming on the candle surface, but wax clinging to the sides. There is no need to worry as this is a natural characteristic of this type of wax. To remedy this, burn your candle for approximately four hours (less for the 6 oz tin) continuously to generate enough heat to melt the wax and bring it down from the sides. It's possible that you may need to repeat the power burn process to bring down the wax hang-up on both sides of the candle.
Q: How long should I expect my candle to burn?
A: You can anticipate a burn time of at least 53 hours for the 10.5 oz. tumbler and 25 hours for the 6 oz. tin. Please note that these estimated burn times are subject to proper burning instructions outlined on our candle care page, which can be found on this website.
Q: Is Coconut Wax safe?
A: Our coconut wax is free from gluten, toxins, parabens, and phthalates. It's a combination of coconut and soy waxes, with a trace amount of FDA food-grade paraffin added for stability. Additionally, our wax is cruelty-free.
Q: Do you use non-toxic fragrance oils?
A: Given the growing concern over the potential toxicity of fragrance oils, we have taken great care to research and select oils that are free from harmful substances such as reproductive toxins, phthalates, and carcinogens. You can be rest assured that the oils we use in our products are safe and non-toxic.
Q: What is your wick made of?
A: Our wick is a cotton-core, flat-braid design that is specifically crafted to burn cleanly and with minimal mushrooming. The wick is designed to be self-trimming, which means that it can curl as it burns, maintaining an appropriate length for optimal burning performance. Therefore, it may not always be necessary to trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting it.
Q: Can my container be reused?
A: We value the idea of reusing your candle vessel, and it's so important to us that we have dedicated a special page to provide you with repurposing ideas. You can find this page by navigating to the website menu.
